for me it’s estate sales
radio controlled engines and airplane kits that are old and not made anymore = original packaging and not being used helps a lot.
you could $400-500 for a model airplane kit that sold for $50 years ago
trouble is - finding these little gems - not the easiest thing to do.
I think I misunderstood your question.
If your very patient, it is possible to buy an item one day and sell it a couple weeks later for more money.
Sometimes there are guys that want that engine no matter what and then next week theses “guys” are not there and the same exact engine will sell for half!! This happens a lot and I’ve seen it, because I like to watch things for the heck of it. You do have ebay and pay pal fees, but you could do this.November 26th, 2009 at 3:55 am -

Yes, actually it is. You just have to be savvy about it. You have to find items that no one else is finding…and there are a few ways in which to do this.
1. Check for misspellings. Believe it or not, there are a lot of sellers that don’t spell check their item listings, and that includes the item title. If you can find a name brand product with the name spelled wrong, you’re onto something. Chances are, people that are searching for this type of product haven’t found it because of the misspelling. This means a bargain for you.
2. Look for auctions that don’t have pictures. You’d be surprised how many buyers quickly overlook an auction without a picture. Simply ask the seller for a photo. Most are happy to provide you with one.
I, for one, don’t buy and sell this way. I feel that there is too much work involved. The only thing that I’d deal with like this is domains or websites. The reason? No shipping to mess with.
I’d totally recommend a digital product, such as an ebook, website or domain name…just because you have no hassle of shipping. Not to mention, you can make good money with these items. Just take a look at what domains and websites are selling for on ebay.
I hope that helps!November 26th, 2009 at 3:55 am
